If the daughter is a sister and the deceased is a man, she is a uterine sister (sister through the mother). If the deceased is a woman, she is a paternal sister (sister through the father).

The statement that a mother is a uterine sister, or a maternal grandmother is a uterine sister, or a paternal grandmother is a paternal sister, is deemed invalid.
