Primary text

Ali and Abdullah assign half to the full sister, one-sixth to the paternal sister, and the remainder to the grandfather. This applies even if there are two or more paternal sisters.

Supporting text

When the division is based on six shares (two for the grandfather, two for the full brother, one for each sister), the paternal sister claims from the others to complete half. The distribution is then corrected to eighteen shares: six for the grandfather, nine for the full sister (from both parents), two for the brother, and one for the paternal sister. Participatory division (Muqasama) and receiving one-third are equal here. If participatory division is used, the total becomes eighteen shares as stated by Al-Kharqi. If the paternal relatives exceed this number, they receive no more than one-sixth because the grandfather cannot receive less than one-third, and the sister cannot receive less than half.
