Primary text

If two sons are left, and one acknowledges a brother, then denies him, and subsequently acknowledges another brother, the second acknowledgment results in nothing being due to the newly acknowledged brother because there is no surplus in the acknowledging son's possession. Under the second probability mentioned previously, he must give the second brother half of what remains in his possession. Under the third probability, he must give one-fourth of what remains in his possession.

Supporting text

The lineage (nasab) of only the first acknowledged brother is established in the initial scenario, but the lineage of the second acknowledged brother is not established in this specific situation involving the denial.
