Primary text
The mother of the freedwoman inherits the Mawla's wealth because she is considered a residuary heir of her daughter (the freedwoman). The daughter, in one view, is considered a residuary heir to her Mawla. Both aspects of this linkage have been mentioned previously in relation to the son of the man who underwent Li'an.
