Primary text
If the garment and the dye are purchased separately, and subsequently dyed, both sellers can reclaim the corpus of their respective goods. The seller of the dye becomes a partner with the seller of the garment. If the combined value increases, the value is apportioned based on the original proportions. If the garment was valued at ten and the dye at five, resulting in a total value of twelve, the garment seller is entitled to five-sixths, and the dye seller to one-sixth. Any deficiency is shared with the general creditors, calculated based on the initial depreciation.
