Is it permissible for the person in I'tikaf to exit the mosque solely for the purpose of washing his hands?

It is not permissible for the person in I'tikaf to exit the mosque for the purpose of washing his hands because washing the hands is an ancillary need (*laha min dhalika badd*) related to his presence in the mosque.
