It is recommended for one observing I'tikaf during the last ten nights of Ramadan to remain in his place of seclusion overnight on the eve of Eid. This was the practice attributed to Aisha, Al-Nukha'i, Abu Mijlaz, and others. They would then proceed directly to the Eid prayer location from the mosque.
