Does the death or deposition of the Imam invalidate an existing truce agreement?

Primary text
If the Imam concludes a truce and subsequently dies or is deposed, the covenant is not nullified. It remains binding upon his successor. This obligation exists because the Imam concluded the pact based on his own ijtihad (independent legal reasoning), and it is not permissible for a subsequent judge to overturn the rulings of his predecessor based on differing ijtihad.
