What happens to the property's security if the belligerent who entered with safe conduct is killed?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Jihad
Primary text
If the belligerent is killed, the security established for his property is nullified because the property's security was secondary and attached to the principal status (the owner's security), and when the principal is nullified by death, the secondary also ceases.

The opposing view maintains that the security for the property remains because it was established based on a valid legal basis—the act of bringing the property into the abode of Islam with safe conduct. This stands independently, as evidenced when property is deposited with an agent; security is established for the property without security being established for the agent's person.
