Primary text
It is permissible to intentionally shoot a woman who stands in the ranks of disbelievers or on their fortress, insults Muslims, or exposes herself to them. This ruling is evidenced by the narration from Sa'id, who reported that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, besieged the people of Ta'if, a woman appeared and uncovered her private parts, whereupon he commanded, 'There she is, shoot her.' A Muslim man shot her and did not miss. The permissibility extends to looking at her private parts due to the necessity of shooting her, as this is a necessity for the act of shooting itself.
