What is the legal status if a person accepts Islam before being captured?

If a person accepts Islam before being captured, his killing, enslavement, and ransom become forbidden. This ruling applies whether he accepted Islam while in a fortress, concealed location, narrow passage, or any other place, because he had not yet fallen into the hands of the plunderers.
