Necessity of the Amir's permission for individual combat or pursuit leading to spoils.

It is not required that individual combat (Mubaraza) must be authorized by the commanding Amir to be entitled to spoils. This is concluded because none of those awarded spoils in the era of the Prophet (PBUH) were reported to have received prior permission for their duels. The general implication of the Hadith regarding spoils mandates entitlement for every killer unless specifically excluded by evidence.
