Must the property of a minor who commits misappropriation (ghulul) be burned?

The property of a minor male who commits misappropriation shall not be burned. This position is held by Al-Awza'i. The reasoning is that burning is a form of punitive corporal punishment, and the minor is not fit to receive such punishment, which is analogous to a statutory punishment (hadd).
