Does the Prophet's practice of drawing lots for his wives apply to moving entire families?

The practice of the Prophet, peace be upon him, drawing lots among his wives to determine whom he would travel with applies only to the case of a single woman (wife) accompanying him, and does not extend to moving entire families and offspring.
