What is the ruling regarding books of Hadith or religious knowledge found with the betrayer ('Ghall')?

If the betrayer possesses books containing Hadith or religious knowledge, they ought not to be burned, as the benefit derived from them accrues to religion. The intent of the punishment is to harm him in his worldly affairs, not to harm his religious standing.
