Primary text

There are two views regarding accepting a non-Muslim's claim that a Muslim granted him Aman. One view accepts it to prioritize the preservation of his life, similar to accepting the claim of an envoy or a merchant. The second view rejects it because establishing proof regarding the Aman granted is possible.

Supporting text

If the Muslim who allegedly granted the Aman testifies, his word is accepted because he possesses the authority to grant Aman, and thus his statement regarding it is binding, similar to a judge declaring a ruling.
