Is there a ruling prohibiting non-Muslims from entering mosques under any circumstances?

Primary text
There is another narration stating that non-Muslims are prohibited from entering mosques under any circumstance. Evidence for this is derived from the incident where Abu Musa sought to have a Christian scribe read a document to Umar, but Umar refused to allow the scribe into the mosque because he was a Christian. This indicates the widespread nature and establishment of this ruling among them. Furthermore, since major ritual impurity (janabah, menstruation, and post-natal bleeding) prevents dwelling in the mosque, the state of polytheism (shirk) carries a stronger prohibition.
