Primary text
If two witnesses testify that a man divorced his wife before consummation, stipulating a dowry of one hundred, when the specified dowry (*Mahr al-Musamma*) was two hundred, and this testimony is subsequently retracted, the witnesses must jointly compensate the husband one hundred dirhams. This liability arises because their retracted testimony caused the deprivation of half the due financial consideration.
