When Hudhayfah identified his stolen camel and the oath fell upon him before the judge, he offered increasing monetary compensation (ten, twenty, thirty, and forty dirhams) to the claimant, who refused. Hudhayfah affirmed his right by swearing that he had neither sold nor gifted the camel.
