Primary text
If the detainee claims they were imprisoned unjustly and owe nothing, the judge's herald announces this claim. If a person appears claiming to be the claimant, but the detainee denies the claim, and the claimant possesses supporting evidence, the case proceeds according to the established evidentiary rules. If the claimant has no evidence or if no claimant appears, the detainee's assertion, coupled with an oath that they have no claimant or no outstanding obligation, is accepted, and they are set free.
