The view supporting reconciliation between opposing parties is held by Shurayh, Abdullah ibn Utbah, Abu Hanifah, Ash-Sha'bi, and Al-Anbari. It is narrated from Umar that he commanded litigants to be returned until they reconcile, stating that settling the dispute (*fasl al-qada'*) generates animosity among the people.
