Primary text
The judge must reject the testimony if there is apparent fault in the witness, as exemplified by Shurayh rejecting a witness wearing a cloak with tightly sewn sleeves because the witness could not uncover his arms for ablution. Testimony must also be rejected if it is relayed indirectly, such as saying, 'It reached us that he owes a thousand,' or if the witness cannot articulate the facts precisely, such as testifying only that the deceased 'leaned upon him by his elbow until he died,' without confirming it was an act of killing.
