If Khul' concerning a female slave is contracted with the permission of her master, where is the compensation attached?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Khul' (Redemption Divorce)
Primary text
If the Khul' is contracted with the permission of the master, the compensation becomes attached to the master's liability, according to the primary opinion of the school, similar to granting permission for his slave to incur debt. If she contracted Khul' for a specific item with the master's permission, she acquires ownership of that item. If the master authorized an amount of money and she contracted for more, the excess amount is attached to her personal liability.

It is also suggested that the compensation attaches to the slave's person ('Raqabah). If the master granted general permission, it implies permission for the stated compensation; if she contracted for that amount or less, the master is liable. If the slave was authorized for trade, she may settle the consideration from what is in her possession.
