Is a contract for grazing valid if the period is not specified?

Primary text
A contract for grazing is invalid unless a specified period is established, because the work involved cannot be precisely confined otherwise. The obligation is tied to the work of the shepherd, and therefore the wages are due upon the shepherd presenting himself, even without actual grazing. This is derived from the general principle that contracts must have defined parameters for the work.
