If the parties dispute the travel parameters—such as the amount of travel, whether travel occurs by night or day, or the location of the stopping point (Manzil) relative to the town boundary—the ruling defaults to established custom ('Urf), similar to when the price is left unspecified in a locale with known currency standards.
