Is the employment of a shepherd valid?

The employment of a shepherd is valid. This is evidenced by the saying of God Almighty related from Shu'ayb: "I intend to marry one of these two daughters of mine to you on condition that you hire me for eight years" (Quran 25:27). It is known that Moses, peace be upon him, hired himself out for the tending of sheep.
