What is the entitlement to wages for a jointly hired worker if the work perishes before delivery to the hirer?

If the work perishes, the worker is not entitled to any wage for the work performed because he has not delivered his work to the hirer, and thus has not earned the compensation, similar to how the price of food that perishes in the hands of the seller before delivery is not due.
