Primary text
There is a consensus among the people of knowledge regarding the permissibility of hiring a wet nurse. This permissibility is established in the Book of Allah, as evidenced by the verse, "So if they suckle for you, then give them their payment" (Quran 65:6). Furthermore, the Prophet (peace be upon him) sought a wet nurse for his son Ibrahim. The practice is necessitated by the need for sustenance through nursing, which is often impossible from the biological mother, thus making it permissible analogous to hiring for other usufructs.
