It is not permissible to take wages for purely personal acts of worship whose benefit does not extend to others, such as fasting, praying for oneself, performing Hajj for oneself, or paying Zakat for oneself. This is established without dispute because wages are considered compensation for benefit (Intifa'), and in these cases, no benefit accrues to another party, making it analogous to leasing property that yields no utility.
