What restrictions apply to the copyist and others during the act of copying?

The copyist is prohibited from conversing with others while copying, or engaging in any activity that distracts their concentration and causes errors. Similarly, others are prohibited from speaking to or engaging the copyist in a way that causes distraction. This prohibition applies generally to all types of labor where mental focus and concentration are essential, such as tailoring (qassara) or weaving (nassaj).
