The specific hired worker is entitled to his wage upon the passage of the stipulated time, regardless of whether what he accomplished perishes or not. Ahmad affirmed this, stating that if someone is hired for a day, works, and what he completed collapses by nightfall, he is still due the wage. This is because his obligation is only to surrender his person and work during that time, which has been fulfilled, distinguishing him from the jointly hired worker (al-Ajir al-Mushtarak).
