What is the wage entitlement for a worker hired for a specific task if the work is only partially completed before perishing?

If a worker is hired to build a wall of ten cubits, and he builds only a portion of it which subsequently collapses, he does not deserve anything until he completes the entire stipulated work, whether the location was on the hirer's property or elsewhere, because entitlement is conditioned upon completion, which was not achieved.
