Is the husband's unilateral repudiation (Khul') valid?

The repudiation (Khul') initiated by the husband is valid because if divorce (Talaq) is valid without resulting in any monetary gain, then Khul', which results in the woman giving compensation, is more sound. However, the compensation (Aiwad) must not be delivered to the husband.
