The loan for use (A'riyah) is only valid if transacted by an individual legally competent to dispose of property. This is because the transaction constitutes an act of disposal over the property, analogous to a sale. The contract is established through any action or utterance indicating consent, such as saying, "I have loaned this to you," or handing over an item while stating, "I permit you to benefit from this," or "Take this and benefit from it." Alternatively, the borrower may initiate the offer by saying, "Loan this to me," or "Give it to me so I may ride it or load upon it," followed by the owner handing it over.
