The announcement of a found item must occur during the daytime, not at night, because the daytime is when people gather and meet, unlike the night. The announcement must take place on the very day the item was found. Announcing it for a week is preferable because searching is more prevalent during that period. No subsequent, continuous announcement is obligatory beyond that.
