What is the liability of a slave who takes lost property if it is damaged during the announcement year?

If a slave takes lost property, it becomes a trust (amanah) in his custody. If it is lost without negligence (tafrit) during the year of announcement, he is not liable for damages. If it is lost due to negligence or willful destruction, he is liable for compensation from his person (raqabah), similar to his other torts.
