Who owns game captured in a trap set on land by one person, but caught by another?

If a trap or snare is set, and game from the land falls into it, and subsequently another person takes the game and captures it, the game belongs to the one who ultimately captured it. The apparatus (trap or snare) must be returned to its owner, as the apparatus itself is considered lost property requiring identification.
