What is the required method for announcing a found item (luqatah)?

Primary text
The defining characteristic of the announcement for a found item is to mention its genus (category) only, and not its description. For instance, one states that gold, silver, dinars, or clothing were lost. This is based on the instruction given by 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to the finder of gold, commanding him to say: 'The gold belongs to the route of Sham (Levant)' and explicitly forbidding description. The prohibition on description stems from the concern that if the description is given, anyone hearing it will know the specific attributes, thus losing the descriptive feature as evidence of ownership, as non-owners can share that knowledge. Furthermore, the announcer risks someone who heard the description falsely claiming the item, taking it while not being the rightful owner, leading to its loss for the true proprietor.
