The same ruling applies if they disagree on the distance that determined the payment—for example, one states the payment was for returning the item from Aleppo (*Halab*) while the other states it was for returning it from Homs (*Hims*). In such cases, the owner's statement prevails because they are considered more knowledgeable of their own condition/stipulation.
