What is the ruling if the pearl found inside the fish bears signs of human modification?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Lost-and-Found Property
Primary text
If the pearl found inside the fish has any evidence of human intervention, such as being pierced, attached to gold, silver, or other materials, it is considered lost property and does not belong to the fisherman. This is because such an item did not naturally occur in the sea in that state to establish ownership upon finding it, making it equivalent to a dinar.
