What is the ruling regarding a *Makatab*'s (contracted slave) right to found property (*Luqatah*)?

The *Makatab* holds the same ruling regarding found property as a free person. This is because the property acquired belongs to him immediately, and his earnings belong to him rather than his master. Since the found property is considered one of his acquisitions, if he fails to complete his manumission contract, he reverts to being a slave, and his ruling concerning found property reverts to that of a slave, as previously established.
