Primary text
The analogy of maintenance quantity to the measure of expiation is not valid. This is because expiation does not vary based on wealth or poverty, nor is it determined by sufficiency. Rather, the Lawgiver equated them in the type of food, not in the quantity. Consequently, ingredients other than staple food are not obligatory in expiation.
