Supporting text
If the maintenance is ruled to be for the mother, the husband is responsible, as her maintenance falls under his obligation. If the husband is a slave, and the maintenance is ruled for the fetus, the husband has no obligation as he is not legally required to maintain his offspring. If the maintenance is ruled for the mother, the husband is obligated based on the principle established earlier.
