Is the Mukatab obligated to provide maintenance for his own slaves, female slaves, and Umm Walads?

The Mukatab is obligated to provide maintenance (*infāq*) for his own male slaves, female slaves, and his *Umm Walads* because they are considered his property. This obligation is incumbent upon him just as it is for the maintenance of his livestock.
