What is the ruling on maintenance for a wife observing voluntary I'tikaf?

If the wife's I'tikaf is a voluntary act (tatawwu'), her maintenance is not forfeited. This is because she has not left the husband's control, nor has she done anything that prevents him from enjoying marital rights, as he retains the ability to make her break her fast (iftar) and have intercourse with her.

However, if the husband desires to exercise his marital right and she refuses, her maintenance is forfeited due to her refusal to grant him the obligatory conjugal access.
