Is a wife entitled to maintenance when the husband is absent after consummation has occurred?

Maintenance remains obligatory upon the husband during his absence if he was able to consummate the marriage and the obligation for maintenance was established. The right to maintenance is established by the wife's submission (tamkeen), and no act by her has voided this right. Therefore, the obligation persists.
