What is the legal status if an owner is informed that another man freed his slave from his wealth, and the owner responds, "I am pleased"?

If an owner is informed that a man freed his slave from his wealth and the owner replies, "I am pleased" (Qad radiytu), this statement is legally void and has no effect. This position is affirmed by Al-Thawri and Ishaq.
