Linguistically, 'Itq means purity or being free from defect. This is exemplified by 'ataq al-khayl' and 'ataq al-tayr,' signifying their pure lineage, and by the Haram Mosque being called 'Ateeq' due to its deliverance from the hands of tyrants.
