What is the ruling concerning the enjoyment (sexual relations) of a female slave whose freedom is conditional?

Sexual enjoyment with the slave is permissible, and the master is obligated to provide maintenance for her. If she converts to Islam, she becomes permissible (lawful) for him. If she dies, she is freed. However, the detailed explanation of this issue is deferred to the chapter on the emancipation of mothers of children (*ummahāt al-awlād*), as it is more appropriate there.
