Primary text

When a married woman, who has a wealthy son, is purchased simultaneously by her husband and that son in one transaction, the son's share of his mother is emancipated. The emancipation then extends (*sarāyā*) to the husband's share of the mother, for which the husband must compensate the son. The unborn child is emancipated by both of them jointly because the child is the husband's offspring and the son's sibling. Neither party owes the other compensation for the emancipation because the emancipation occurred upon them both simultaneously.
